Richard Samuel Cobb
Welcome to the Sentinel to the House of Israel prayer closet. This aliyah intercessory prayer group was started in the early part of 2000. We dedicate this ministry to the memory of Richard Samuel Cobb. Sam dedicated the latter part of his life to helping Jewish people return to Israel. Since Sam's death on June 18, 2000, we have felt led by the L-rd to intensify our prayers for the return of Jews from around the world to Israel. Aliyah in Hebrew means "to go up". When a Jew immigrates to Israel, he or she is said "to make aliyah".

In the Golan
During our prayer time, we follow a simple pattern. If you desire to duplicate our efforts, we have found that if we devote the first third of the prayer session to our updates, prayer requests of persons making aliyah, and scriptures that we believe the L-rd has given us during our time apart, this works best. We constantly seek G-d as to whom we should pray for. In this prayer closet, we will pray from scriptures concerning the last and greatest re-gathering of Israel from the four corners of the earth to which the L-rd has scattered them.

The Kotel
We feel that the L-rd has given us a small window of opportunity to share with the Church, G-d's promises to Israel. We want to seek out and encourage those who G-d is calling to intercede on behalf of His nation, people, and the Land of Israel.

The book of Esther carries a strong message for the Church:

Esther 4:13-14
Then Mordecai told them to reply to Esther, "Do not imagine that you in the king's palace can escape any more than all the Jews. For if you remain silent at this time, relief, and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place and you and your father's house will perish. And who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this?"

Paul also speaks to the believers in Messiah Jesus (Hebrew, Yeshua) from Romans 11: 25-33:

For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery, lest you be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;

And thus all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "the Deliverer will come from Zion. He will remove ungodliness from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins."

From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God's choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers; for the gifts and calling of G-d are irrevocable.

For just as you once were disobedient, in order that because of the mercy shown to you they also may now be shown mercy, for G-d has shut up all in disobedience that He might show mercy to all.

Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of G-d! How unsearchable are his judgments and unfathomable His ways!

Migdal David
As we pray together over the airwaves, we hope that if you are able, that you will jot the scriptures down and go over them again. Remind yourself and remind G-d of His promises.

Please remember that even though our efforts may seem small and inconsequential, we have been made privy and been given a chance to participate in a project that is close to G-d's heart.
